CALMUN 2020 starts in:

Welcome to CALMUN 2020!

17-20 April 2020

Most Esteemed Participants,

It is my salient honor and pleasure to be welcoming you all to the 5th annual session of Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School Model United Nations Conference, which is going to take place between April 17-20th, 2020.

Fully embracing our motto "Chance to Make a Difference", CALMUN Club has been the name behind one of the few prestigious Model United Nations Conferences. This year's edition shall be no different. Organized by a self-proved Academic and Organization Team, CALMUN'20 will establish more than a regular MUN conference, creating an uncommon atmosphere where one could debate regardless of their identity whilst enjoying every single second of it. Our goal is to contribute to our participants by redounding attributes that will last a lifetime.

In this year's edition, CALMUN will entertain two General Assembly Committees and seven Special Committees, all of them tackling our mutual problems from the past, the present and the future. Although our committees and their topics vary immensely from each other, they all originate from the same ambition: evoking the feeling of having an influence on something - in our case the World itself.

Our two General Assembly Committees will be dealing with borderless threats and conditions to mankind. On the other hand, our Special Committees feature a great spectrum. World Health Organization will draw attention to the medical turmoil in Yemen. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation will attempt to break the prejudices whilst restoring interior relationships. North Atlantic Treaty Organization will seek out ways to expand its worldwide influence. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is going to be challenged with unauthorized activities around the Mediterranean. The United Nations Security Council is going to act to resolve territorial disputes in the South China Sea. The French Parliament will address the stagnating economy, whilst reviewing its ties with the British post-Brexit. Last but not least, as this year's historical committee, we will entertain Minamoto no Yoritomo's Cabinet where the participants will experience the competition amongst "Genjis" and unique challenges of its era.

From the very beginning of my life, I have always been a good observer, analyzing every tiny bit of detail regardless of its context. This also applies to the time I have spent during my MUN journey, thus granting me a solid grasp of organization. CALMUN’20 will prioritize mesmerizing its participants whilst avoiding ruining mistakes I’ve witnessed many examples of. Under my guidance, the Academic and the Organization Team of CALMUN'20 will provide its participants an unforgettable experience.

I am looking forward to meeting you in April.
